The Bombast Begins

Here in Los Angeles, presidential candidate advertising has begun to show up on the airwaves.

The first I heard came from Gary Johnson, who makes a relatively cogent and sound argument for why a voter should look for other options than those offered by the Republicans and Democrats. He fails to make a case for why he and his running mate (William Weld) should be the voter's choice, however.

Thanks for playing, Gary!

The other comes from a PAC, which if I remember the name correctly is Liberty USA. They are trying to rally the voters to "rescue" Trump's campaign from the evil Hillary Clinton. It's over the top, and if one is into drinking games, this would be a great starter piece for when the "debates" begin - assuming they do.

Because the leading candidates are shifting into passing gear, I felt I have had enough from the also rans and the wanna-stills. I am in the process of unsubscribing from clearly Democratic Party emails. I got one, featuring Chuck Schumer, nagging me about why I haven't responded to previous emails demanding my support. Yes - I said demanding. That was the trigger for me to say that I've had enough and to give them a (microscopic) piece of my mind.

To Schumer's email, I flung the following as my reason for unsubscribing:

All the Democratic candidates I was willing to support lost their races. Those who remain do not represent my interests. I'm sure there is some corporate money somewhere which will more than make up for my hard-earned hourly-wage dollars.

I also got an email from corporatist Jeff Weaver, President of Our Revolution. Since I am of the faction that disdains his preference to accept corporate money in the name of "transforming the Democratic Party", I have decided that he was to walk the plank as well:

I don't see the remaining "Democrats" doing anything to end corporate money purchasing their services.

Several other unsubscribes went out, but without comments as either they lost their elections, or they represent causes I care about (but can't afford to contribute to) AND they approached me without my asking to be a part of their activities. I find butting in like they did to be somewhat rude, so I was rude back in letting them wonder why I departed in a huff.

There will probably be more of this soon, as I have to clear the decks before that email provider begins to charge me for their services. Those messengers I wish to maintain are being moved to other accounts. Those I do not will start getting 404s.

So tell us - who have you cut off, and how did you feel doing it? Caucusing Minds Want To Know

Modern education is little more than toeing the line for the capitalist pigs.

I think the last thing I watched was the rescue of the Chilean miners, as that was quite something.

Broadcast US radio is also out. So Hillary's screechings are thankfully not something I'm subject to.

If something 'big' happens, I usually tune in to BBC Radio Five Live (as I did with the terrorist atrocity in Paris last November.......... Mrs Bollox was due to travel to said city the following day).

The first thing I do with every new radio is remove the little slide switch that changes from AM to FM. Wanna listen to sports? Not here pal.

I don't watch TV at all, because it's too expensive on power consumption and everyone on Skid Row you ever said howdy to wanrs to watch. No thanks.

I uninstalled Facebook and Messenger. Fuck Mark Zuckerburg and every sociopathic billionaire on the planet.

Between 2012 and 2015, German MW or Middle Wave / “Mittelwelle” stations were taken out of service. The last one made its final broadcast on December 31, 2015.

(Of course, as political shorthand, in the U.S. “AM radio” doesn’t so much stand for the technology as for a certain sociological subculture / political phenomenon.)

to just about anyone or anything that is pro hrc, I don't think there is any form of the MSM that isn't pro Hillary except Fox so called news and Rush Limpballs. I come here, read Counterpunch, watch RT news once in a while and always read Organic Consumers Association's newsletter because I am also very concerned about the food we eat. Its more than enough to keep me occupied.

mailings. I also sent a reply to OR email, telling Jeff Weaver just what I thought of him. No reply yet. Months ago, I emailed Cory Booker to piss Off. Still getting' too many Demonic emails, tho--plus snail mail from Killary's Victory Fund (which may soon morph into Killary's pardon fund).

I am "unsubscribing" from USA electoral politics altogether. Its bored me to join tune-out time, and "Nobody for President".

No TV, cell phone or cable where I live, and I don't own a radio. I did bring in an Internet connection so... I can acquire books and movies, watch to see where the hurricanes are going maybe listen in to Redacted Tonight or whatever and get some laughing in.

Sorry, I like Facebook. I have groups I follow that keep me abreast of climate news, West Bank massacres, Kurdistan, and the happenings (rum parties etc.) in the village and back home in Bolivia.

I check in... mostly just see if they have indicted both Hecch Clinton and Dumbol' Dump... or maybe see if some reporter filmed an ambulance picking up Hecch, or dug through her trash and found prescription drug information sheets, used adult diapers, or a new body bag.
