Clinton now says she wants college debt forgiven?

She is incredible, as in not credible.
Must still be having trouble with younger voters. Maybe a few more promises will do the trick.

I want them to be able to pay them off at a lower interest rate....

...and have them forgiven after a certain period of time.

I bolded the vagueness. What could she be hinting at? Perhaps 40 years or 50 years? She is so vague.

My instincts tell me that she might get the interest rate on student debt down a tiny bit. But, she'll never provide debt free college, or even current debt forgiveness.

Legislation passed by obama already does this for income based repayment consolidation loans. After 20 years for accounts in good standing. Or 10 years for poeple working in certain qualifing jobs.

Her statement has no meaning give the weasle words inserted, given existing policy.

She now advocates an option that is already a part of current law.

Just more Clinton campaign manipulation...

Same kind Obama used to give out, but we were ok with that, because we knew "In his Heart" he was a progressive.

This time, it ain't working because it doesn't matter how fancy the dress, the jewelry, the make-up, the Personal Training, the Lighting, or the lipstick... it's still a pig.

In this country, we need to have more things that people can have affordably! Progress should not be delayed by emotional cages! 9/11 was a thing!

Sad thing is that I think I'd get a standing ovation for some of that. Probably the 9/11 part.

Hillary copied Bernie's talk, and now she is copying Jill in the hope of confusing voters. The Dems could run a myna bird for President and achieve the same effect.

isn't very good at it.

Part and parcel, though, for the over-litigious, "fine print" culture practicians who emerged in the loathsome 80's. Trickle Down Neoliberalism been a death spiral, resulting in our indentured servitude, dead end or no jobs and the shredding of the safety net, brought to us by batteries of lawyers in DC. She, like the top 10% Thomas Frank refers to in his latest book "Listen, Liberal!" of white upper class professional the Democratic Party has sold out to, is the embodiment of Neoliberalism's fraud.

The new issue of n+1 came this weekend and had three consecutive good pieces on the election, including this one on the Bernie campaign by a labor organizer who was canvassing in Philly.

Shills' equivocating is very definitely of the that vomit-inducing decade (and the one after) of Worship The Rich, everyone's a lawyer, get me in on the next Get-Rich-Quick scheme. Recalled the opening of one of those pieces from n+1:

“The first thing we do,” Dick the Butcher famously says to Jack Cade, leader of the rebellion of 1450, in Shakespeare’s Henry VI, Part 2, “let’s kill all the Lawyers.” Cade responds enthusiastically:

That I mean to do. Is not this a lamentable thing, that of the skin of an innocent lamb should be made parchment? that parchment, being scribbled o’er, should undo a man? Some say the bee stings: but I say, ’tis the bee’s wax; for I did but seal once to a thing, and I was never mine own man since.

For Cade and his comrades, physical pain is nothing compared with the damage done by writing. Their political enemy is not the nobility (Cade, a commoner who insists he is secretly of noble birth, wants to take the place of the king, not abolish it), but the professional class. Lawyers and their ilk use writing to steal the fruits of people’s labor, either by tricking them into signing away their rights or preying on the weakness of the sovereign. Come the revolution, they are first against the wall.

Hillary will say anything to gain more support. I don't, however, trust her to live up to her own word.

Our only purpose is to legitimize her being in power to serve the 1%. Therefore, should we get uppity and demand action which benefits We the People, Hillary will dust off Obama's disdainful dismissal of us, and tell us to shut up and let Her handle it. Once kicked to the curb (a place we should all know too well after over 30 years of being booted aside), we are to shut up and let Her do what she's been paid to do - screw us over yet again.

It would serve this country well to have a President Trump, for we have been letting fools and charlatans be Chief Executives since the last one with any vision and brains had them splattered all over his limo.

they can't stand her, especially after she belittled them during the primaries/caucuses for wanting "free stuff." her line about her father telling her "if something's too good to be true, it usually is" really pissed them off.
