I'm a newbie here, please be gentle :/

I was just over perusing that "other site" and found this to be their front page, above the fold story.

"The Most District: What district has the most never-married men? Massachusetts' 7th."

Now THIS is news we can use.

Short posts like this are probably best posted to the morning open thread or 'The Evening Blues'(there are others too). I've been guilty of this and no one should bite you head off. This place is mostly laid back. No diary police( I hope).

Hmmm... I wonder how that compares to the number of never-married women.

But, what exactly does it say about the state... and the men? (gryn)

That is a pretty pathetic front page story. I often make fun of my local newspaper (Lexington, KY) because everything above the fold on the front page is basketball. This may be worse.

I followed a link from here over to TOP a little while ago and I couldn't believe the enmity... the pure hatred... I felt coming from those comments. Even just reading the "hover" on some of the diaries made my blood pressure rise a couple of points! I wallowed in the week's worth of pooty diaries and that was it. Couldn't stand to be there for anything else. I meant to grab my diaries, etc., but it felt like I literally needed to get out of there asap.

I've wrestled with the question of how "we" were ever going to integrate the tea party back into the whole and bring some sort of unity to the country again. After experiencing what I did over there... in that short amount of time... I'm of a mind now that I'd just as soon see the country split up into -more- than two separate "countries." I really hope we can get energized and organized around a new Progressive party, 'cause I think it's been made loud and clear the "Democrats" no longer have room in their tent for us! We may be heading towards a more Parliamentary form of government by default at this point. For once, I'm just as happy to be my own age, rather than young again. What we did and lived thru in the '60's and '70's was bad enough. This old body just won't handle the strain of marching, cops, etc., anymore. And the fact we're fighting once again for the same things we fought for (and won) back then just makes me heartsick.

"if they had just shut up about Hillary, we could have pulled this 'lesser evil' thing off one more time."

But don't forget, at this point much of it is artificial, promoting the party line, and some of it is paid.

The word that comes to mind when I look at That Other Place is "vacuous".
It just seems so empty.
