They've really got their knickers in a knot this time

Over at TOP they're taking pot shots at Bernie because of an interview he did today with Andrea Mitchell. They called him "Delusional", "Sore loser", "Mean SOB", and that was just in the first 75 words.

The backing piece is no better. Chris Cillizza wrote the most dunderheaded assessment I've read in a while.

What he's saying -- if you read between the lines -- is that the ball is in Clinton's court when it comes to winning his endorsement. Not only does he think she needs to come to him, but he also believes she still has to prove that she is "prepared to stand with them [the American people], as they work longer hours for low wages, as they cannot afford health care, as their kids can't afford to go to college."

Well, DUH, Chris. What is an endorsement, anyway? It's a guide to your supporters that their concerns will be addressed by a new candidate. The real delusional people are the ones who expect Sanders to endorse a candidate who HAS NOT offered to address their concerns. That's all fine and well when the candidate endorsing hasn't brought any new voters into the picture. A subset of the rank and file should be expected to toe the line. But a candidate who has brought new voters into voting Democratic has an obligation to those voters not to give them bad advice.

This is the exact same self-entitled crap that says the Independents should vote with the Democratic party but not in their primaries; Hillary expects to receive the Sanders Seal of Approval without indicating that she has altered her outlook or embraced his views.

When asked by Andrea Mitchell whether he'd endorse Clinton, Bernie said:

Politics is not a baseball game with winners or losers. What politics is about is whether we protect the needs of millions of people in this country who are hurting.

Seems clear enough to me. Automatic endorsements, before the convention even, are a result of winner/loser mentality. Policy leads the discussion on Bernie endorsement. Cillizza's take on this is astoundingly dense, for someone who gets paid by the Washington Post:

Again, the belief undergirding Sanders's comments is that he alone -- and, therefore, not Clinton -- is the person who can bring transformational change to end the "decline of the American middle class." That Clinton is either insufficiently committed to doing so or simply incapable of bringing that sort of change about. That she sees politics as "a baseball game of winners and losers" while he sees it as "protect[ing] the needs of millions of people in this country who are hurting."

Wow. Chris, apparently it's YOU who see politics as a game of winners and losers. That there are people in this country who are hurting is a secondary concern to you, because Hillary needs an endorsement, now!

It's very instructional to watch them melt down from time to time. IMO, they're melting down at all because that "55% of Sanders supporters are going for Clinton already" propaganda was complete bullshit, and anyone who didn't have a vested interest in believing it knew it was complete bullshit.

And it really bugs them when their spin tanks. I did so used to enjoy needling a couple of them whenever it happened, because you could just see them frothing at the mouth while they typed their endless little self-absorbed temper tantrums.

and make no mistake about it, while they may claim to be on "Our Side", the neo-liberals that KNOWINGLY support Clinton despite all her anti-progressive stances are just as much our enemy as any Republican. Actually probably worse because they are the enemy within....

I don't see a problem with people occasionally pointing out the silliness and delusion that goes on at TOP, if for no other reason than to remind us of how good we got it here. Smile

THEY see US as their enemies. Why not treat them the same?

I hope everyone was able to see the gist of the article, that the Democrats are trying to force an endorsement. It's not really about the "Orange State" website but rather the content they choose to discuss. I could have left that part out and referenced only the Cillizza article and it would still be the same.

about that I'm sure the Guardian would would hire them in a second . Maybe not Wolfie as he's almost a drooler but Chris Cilizza, he's right up their alley. They have Richard Wolfe as an Election 2016 American 'reporter'. Not as a political hack but a 'reporter' a journalist . Whatever happened to Spenser Ackerman? hummm..

Maybe not the BBC they like their idiots and shills to speak proper BBC. Only Kristian Foden-Vencil's need apply It's not really corporate America it's globalized corporate media both online and off and they all are pumping the propaganda and misinformation.

This Richard Wolfe:

Richard L. Wolffe (born 17 September 1968) is a British-American journalist, MSNBC commentator, and author of the Barack Obama books Renegade: The Making of a President (Crown, June 2009) and Revival: The Struggle for Survival Inside the Obama White House (Crown, November 2010). Richard Wolffe is a US columnist for The Guardian newspaper. Wolffe was most recently vice president and executive editor of MSNBC.com

And this hack was outed for his

In July 2009, Richard Wolffe guest hosted a few episodes of Countdown with Keith Olbermann. He came under fire from liberal bloggers shortly afterward due to his position at Public Strategies. Olbermann apologized, claiming he was caught "flat-footed" and announcing that Wolffe would not appear on Countdown until his activities outside of MSNBC were reviewed. On October 1, 2009 Richard Wolffe appeared on Countdown discussing Sarah Palin. Olbermann wrote at Daily Kos that "the broadcast network's very tough practices exec (lol.)vetted this other job (and as indicated, the work he's done for us), found no interrelation." Wolffe left Public Strategies two months later.

And he is a freaking plagiarist as well.

Two years later Keith Oberman 'left' MSNBC. The next day we took our Comcast cable box back.

I for one am waiting till after the convention, but my Dexit is gonna happen regardless.

Even if Sanders wins, the Democratic party as a whole has shown it's true colors and there is not a doubt in my mind that they would work to undo any positives Sanders could implement the minute they could regain control of the party.

Let them have their silly, corrupt social club.

My Dexit is inevitable, now it is just a matter of timing.

Donald Trump is imploding. 70 percent of Americans hate him. He hasn't got even the beginnings of a national campaign. He could make a comeback, but those high negatives! I am tempted to believe the theory that the Clintons talked Trump into running.

I don't even go there on my weekly masochism tour anymore.

Not because it's not abusive enough, simply because the conversation has become so vacuous that it is just not worth the time.

If I am gonna get annoyed reading shit online to learn what my opponents think I may as well stick with the regular RW tripe, at least their shit, while delusional generally as well at least touches on a few bits of real information.

All the "Rah!Rah! Hillary is the BESTEST!" stuff that just regurgitates Clinton camp talking points and soundbites is pretty much useless.

Well, except for the occasional semi-drunken passive aggressive troll trolling.

I would be a liar if I said I never did that. Wink

Is like having a conversation with a Teabagger...

Those "friends" that sent long picture and GIF laden Murica e-mails every day, back in the Clinton & Bush administration years that strangled your dial up connection, and got left behind 4 or 5 e-mail addresses ago...

They still have their guns, and the latest Obama Birth Certificate wasn't passing the sniff test, any attempt to have a discussion with them about a misstatement one of their FWD... FWD... FWD... FWD News Items would go Galloping Gish or Circular Argument in 15 seconds...

It is sad because Orange State used to be my 1st choice of Alternative & Political News Outlets now it is nothing more than a Right Wing Propaganda Outlet with a "Loose" Sphincter Muscle....

One of the ingredients of page rank and search engine visibility is quality backlinks, some websites attempt to gain these using spammers to flood forums and comments with links to their site, which actually backfires in the algorithm when it is recognized as a spammy backlink vs a true organic backlink which is gold...

Why should we help them out by providing backlinks?

That really is an incredible decline for website that usually sees it's highest traffic during an election, particularly a presidential one.

These establishment people are apparently encased in an almost impenetrable bubble. They can't hear the majority of Americans at all. And why are they whining about Bernie? They have signaled that he and his supporters won't get anything from them, despite a very successful and impressive campaign that brought progressive issues to the forefront, overcoming a corporate media blackout. In exchange for nothing they deserve nothing!

One of the most shameful ideological sellouts I ever saw was reflected hideously at TOP after Obama was elected the first time: a couple hundred two-faced regulars, sincere "anti-war progressives" one and all, turned out to be anti-Republican, not anti-war. Since then they whine and mewl over acts of savagery where the victims are "worthy victims", but the many more numerous victims of illegal US military aggression? They are ignored and erased from history.

it would be interesting to know how many combined individuals are between the two sites. k4r being the biggest nest for exiles. But there are other sites too, maybe some in the left hand column Jtc is building for us.

I would argue this though: I have sweet, smart, intelligent friends who are hearing nothing but fear mongering about Trump. They are so frightened of his fascism that Hillary looks better. The lesser of two evils isn't even the thing: they can't and don't want to believe that she (and Bill) can be that bad. And they don't perceive anywhere else to go.

I engaged one on the topic, and she was so emotionally frightened I closed my mouth. There is no gentle option. She happens to be a single, 55ish, woman without a safety net trying to make ends meet with three part time jobs.

I think we should check in on various sources of Hillary support and reports so we know what is going on. To ignore the elephant in the living room, imho, is a mistake. We must know what we are facing.Reading without a spike in blood pressure, well, deep breathing, yoga, a smoke, and staying logged out but reading not commenting may be the answer.

My urge right now after reading very smart people here is too urge Sanders to register for write in on the 43 states which allow it. The seven that don't are small, several Southern. I think it could matter.

I guess he has to see the convention through, but an not so sure of that. Jeremy Corbyn won't back off and he just lost his own party. So why not start the process to get on all 43 ballots?

Jill Stein is in on somewhere around 24-25 states and climbing. But slowly for this round.

Just trying to figure out the next steps instead of the limbo we seem to be in. And do I ever hate to sit around like a deer in the headlights waiting for the oncoming train.

was maybe two or so. His back to us in his kennel, so depressed. The other dogs, a lot of Pit and Pit mixes, were jumping at their gates to say hi. Not Harry. He was skinny too. Was brought in by a lady who thought she had hit him as he was in busy city traffic with only an old ratty collar and no ID.

He lived to run. That's how we finally figured he was a mix of some Northern breed (up turned tail), and intense focus, like a shepherd but no herding in him. His reward was anything that resulted in running. That included Chuck-its and night ball.

He contracted Giardia: ten vets and multiple rounds of Flagyl, which his bugs were resistant to, and the poor guy finally died at the one vet who knew what to do. We had five minutes to say good bye to our pal who loved us with all his heart, and it was a big one.

We had a custom harness made for a road cross bike, and he mushed my DH. Dog was happy, DH was tired. We clocked his sprints at 25mph and ran him four miles at 15 with no signs of stopping. We were worried about his pads, but he was bullet proof.

The dog park at Seattle's Sammamish parkway was where he got it. Horrible year long battle. Vets were horrible. Some even said it was a spiritual problem. My a$$.

Northerns take a long time to bond, but once they do, they look into your eyes and soul like no other. And he loved for us to be on the floor with him giving hugs. At the end, he tried so hard not to bother us, but he was miserable. I still cry over Harry, cut down in his fifth year.

Thanks for noticing.
