Parents of eight transgender children have asked for a meeting with Trump, Sessions and DeVos to discuss the administration's withdrawal of protections for transgender students in the nation's schools.
With only 33 days left until the inauguration of the new administration, Loretta Lynch sat down at the Stonewall Inn in New York with Buzzfeed reporter Dominic Holden to talk about transgender activism.

Ninth-grader Sigourney Coyle spoke to the School Board against allowing transgender students to use facilities matching their gender identity on August 24, declaring that her bodily privacy would be violeated is she were required to disrobe in the presence of transgender students.
During the East Penn School Board meeting, Coyle said she had been doing well in physical education in middle school last school year until she learned of the new federal directive. She subsequently refused to dress for gym in the girls locker room, and said Monday that she was given poor marks for failing to participate in the class.
I am a woman, and I identify as a woman, and you can't make me change in front of someone who I don't identify with — who is physically male.

If this century has shifted our trust from away from our neighbors toward machines, it might be time to switch back again. Eight countries in Europe that once flirted with digital voting have seen six go back to paper; Britain counted its Brexit votes by hand. Even if the vote were never hacked—and it is an exceedingly implausible event—the remotest possibility is an albatross on democracy and a boon for mischief-makers, and not just the cyber attackers. Trump’s most recent jujitsu—pointing out that by virtue of the fact that the election is hackable, it could be rigged against him—illustrates this risk. The 8,500+ word article is far too detailed to adequately summarize, or even quote from in detail here. So please go pour a tall drink or cup of coffee (you may need several, there's a lot there) and go read about the "parabola of havoc and mismanagement that has been the fifteen-year nightmare of state and local officials", as he accurately describes it, following the horrifically misguided and ill-advised move to computerized voting and tabulation systems following the 2000 election. I suspect we've filed almost as many articles on this topic as Wofford has words in today's piece!
