Can Corporate Dems Make It Any Clearer They Don't Want Progressives in Their Club? One Tweet Says it All

You might think that being registered in the Democratic party makes you eligible to run for office, and even primary a Democrat who votes like a Republican most of the time. Well you would be wrong according to Sally Albright, HRC supporter, who tweeted this today:

This is the tweet she responded to:

The message couldn't be any clearer: Corporate tit-sucking Dems are good, and Progressive Dems are scum, who have no right to primary a sitting incumbent, especially a Third Way, Corporate cash-taking Obama/Clinton Democrat. Of course, Ms. Albright and her ilk have no trouble supporting a people who want to primary Tulsi Gabbard, a progressive incumbent. nor does she have any issue with lying about Bernie Sanders in order to reduce his popularity and influence in "her party." She also lies about his supporters:

... despite all, evidence to the contrary:

To her we are all "BernieBros," that is, the "fringe that needs to be culled" from the Democratic party because we're the reason the Dems keep losing.

Could anything be more salient evidence that Democrats don't care about elections, and don't care about helping real people with real problems? They only want to keep the Corporate Cash fire hose blasting Billions of Dollars into their coffers, and making it possible to have a career in which your sole goal is to purge progressive values and idea and people from the democratic party while cozying up to (or actually being) corporate lobbyists themselves.

Could there be any better reason to kill off the Democratic Party and start a new one based on progressive values and running progressive candidates?

Is Albright a Democrat? She wrote February 8, 2011 (I assume it's her)

Most recently, Albright served as New Media Director for Bentley for Governor. Her accomplishments for the campaign were singled out as "innovative" by several media outlets. Specifically, her "virtual yard sign" viral promotion played a pivotal role in Bentley's come-from-behind surge that clinched the party's nomination. She pioneered the use of location-based services to motivate and mobilize volunteers and publicize the candidate's public appearances. (Dated )

Would this be Robert Bentley, the governor of Alabama who resigned a month or so ago after being caught having sex with his political aide Rebekah Mason?

Albright's Linkedin profile reads:

Current: Capitol Waterfront Group, The Rainer Deschaine Foundation

Previous: Druid City Media, LLC, ForwardNC - Kay Hagan for Senate, Buzzards Bay Strategies

@Tony Wikrent before she was fired by his campaign. Lookie here:

http://blog.al.com/spotnews/2010/06/robert_bentley_campaign_former.html

Two fired senior staff members of Robert Bentley's campaign for governor charged Tuesday that Bentley's campaign may now be controlled by "forces outside Alabama, forces that do not necessarily have Dr. Bentley's or Alabama's best interest at heart."

The charge was made by Steven Berry and Sally Albright through Tuscaloosa lawyer Ralph M. Clements III. Clements e-mailed reporters a three-page letter to "make the record clear" on Berry and Albright's efforts in the campaign and the circumstances in which they were asked to leave.

Berry, a longtime political operative, served as Bentley's communications director. Albright was behind what many saw as an innovative use of new media in the campaign.

Bentley shocked many when he finished second in the GOP primary despite having been outspent by millions of dollars by Bradley Byrne, who finished first, and Tim James, who finished third. Byrne and Bentley meet July 13 in a runoff.

In the letter, Albright and Berry call Bentley a "fundamentally kind and decent man" and say they continue to believe he is the best choice for governor.

There is a division within the Democratic party, this is well known, but it extends far beyond any party or lack thereof. Among those that proclaim to be “left” within the party, one can see on a smaller scale the true division and choices facing us as citizens regardless of party affiliation and so I will use the party division to explore the two main paths that are currently struggling to shape the party to better explore the larger picture.

The Clintonite vision is of course neoliberal and tactically they attempt to gain power via “identity politics”, claiming that if one champions economic progressive values then one is somehow inherently against progressive social values, this is to be expected from that camp when one understands their ideals as laid forth since the rise of the DLC, the third way, and all other associated false flag infiltrators of a once proud party of the people (no longer even recognizable to those of us that remember an earlier time).

Al From and the Clintons’ old crew had a specific tactic and political ideology that could only give rise to such an attempt to seperate social from economic justice which were once both the true goals of Democrats, back when they championed both civil liberty as well as championing a war against poverty and other economic liberties. New Democrats ignore what the best among us have always known (including MLK) that one can not have one form of justice without the other as they are inextricably intertwined.

The “Third Way” refers to various political positions which try to reconcile right-wing and left-wing politics by advocating a varying synthesis of right-wing economic and left-wing social policies. In other words, identity politics and attacking those who may attempt to reclaim the left wing economic policies was not only inevitable, but unavoidable.

The true left, even it’s watered down mixed economy versions (the only left ever achieved successfully) is Supposed to embrace a synthesis of left-wing economic and left-wing social policies. This is a threat to the very ideology and power structure of the third way neoliberal advocates, and so they use the left wing social policies (they claim to champion yet usually fail to actually fight for, leaving all the work to committed activists) as a weapon to divide those people that rightfully champion such social values against those that would also wish to achieve economic justice, who here has not had attacks aimed at them of sexism, racism or other unfounded accusations for daring to support the policies often spoken of by Bernie Sanders?

Any candidate that would actively try to divide Americans across racial and cultural lines, then attempt to foster hatred of each group against the other is harmful not just to the process but to the innocent people they are trying to divide by using such tactics as political warfare, it is deplorable behavior and often seen used by hate groups across the globe. Republicans do it all the time, but Democrats like Clinton and her third way true believers also use this tactic as their “go to”. This became a pattern from the Clinton Campaign during the last primary.

Well-respected surrogates carefully chosen from among those known once to have fought for social justice, were sent out to attack Bernie or his supporters with a scripted false narrative that he was somehow “anti-social justice” (absurd to those that knew his record, even among those that made such false claims), after receiving push back for these absurd claims, they then accused Sanders and all his supporters (as if they were a single being made of straw) of racism and/or sexism for pointing out such smears weren’t true. It was sickening, cynical, divisive and still is today when used. One expects this from Republicans – but seeing such divisiveness from the Democratic party used as standard fair is heartbreaking and leads one to believe the party is forever lost, simply a sub specie of a Republican party no longer opposed by a major party in our two party system, but rather joined by them in a common cause that is purchased by the few for the few. /snip

Tired of that, I've been here since the beginning and now it's just a fucking blog that complains about Daily Kos and the democratic party because their Bernie hero didn't get elected. This is supposed to be a non-partisan site but most everyone is still stuck on the fucking democratic party, Daily Kos, like a scorned lover who just wants their ex to see the light.

@Big Al
But we do want to find a little justice after all the crap that went down, so cheering the demise of the Dem Party and Kos is a little, temporary consolation.

There is a lot of brainstorming going on around here about what can be done, what can we do. We are looking for a step forward, so it's only natural to look back. I like joe's list of demands as a great starting point. It seems to me that from there our next challenge is dissemination.

up

Cant Stop the Macedonian Signal's picture

@Big Al I believe the subject under discussion was that people like us are going to be called Berniebros by people like Sally Albright, regardless of the truth.

As for C99, the reason people gather in larger numbers to kvetch about the DNC and Markos is that everyone is exhausted, scared, and demoralized, and it's easier to be pissed at the DNC and Markos than it is to invent something new while exhausted, scared, demoralized--and being constantly blitzed from above. Huddling together in a little shelter and saying "God, those people are bastards!" is, oddly enough, a kind of comfort for some.

There is some movement toward something greater than that. We'll see how it goes.

But of course, the biggest problem with C99, as with any website, is that it remains disconnected from people's actual lives. That's true of any virtual space. Using virtual space for anything other than tuning out one's own physical real-life experience is hard; using it in a way that connects to that physical real-life experience is hard. It can be done, but the easiest thing to do is to let the medium influence you so you start acting and thinking like you're nothing but a brain, a pair of eyes, and some fingers.

@Big Al

is something that the DNC constantly foists upon anyone who they feel owes them fealty no matter who we are or what we actually believe. It's name-calling by bullies who seek to control us. This is why bullying will always be around, as it's a social tool, albeit a negative one. The fact that we choose not to be bullied will not stop them trying to make us respond. It does get old, though. On the playground it was "fatty" even if you weren't fat, or "poopyhead" or some other nonsense. Whatever it took was what bullies used.

It's the same today. DNC leaders will use skills they learned on the playground to try to elicit compliance. So they call women who voted for Jill Stein "Bernie Bros" as well as anyone else who won't do what they want. That doesn't mean we have to buy what they're saying, but they will keep saying it. 'Cuz they're bullies.
