Biden news 4/24/2024

Biden's Secretary of State Antony Blinken is going to China. Here are the Alexes discussing its ramifications.

Oh, that's a good look. Threaten China with sanctions when three months ago you were asking China for help dealing with Yemen. The Alexes do really well to explain why the Blinken visit is not a good idea. All that Chinese stockpiling! And the Blinken visit comes hot on the heels of that Congressional appropriation of $8.1 billion in military stuff for Taiwan. (Yes, I remember that Congress completely rolled over -- not just for escalation in Taiwan and more bombs for genocide, but also for Joe's failed war in Ukraine. As Moon of Alabama stated: "one wonders what means the deep state used to push Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, and Trump, into this full capitulation.")

The two-hour-plus Revolutionary Blackout Network podcast of last night begins with the discussion of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez' speech to protesters.

Of course, AOC is also totally tight with Joe Biden, who uses the standard "antisemitism" line when discussing protesters and who has made genocide possible for the past 200 or so days. Ocasio-Cortez is a lesson in how one can get so completely involved in image-polishing that one can be both for and against genocide. (Of course, the action part of this contradiction favors the "for" end of it.)

(If you were wondering why I linked to the Washington Examiner, this is because the more straightforward headline used by the Revolutionary Blackout Network is for a story in the Times of Israel.)

As for the physical Joe Biden, he's attacking Donald Trump on abortion rights in a campaign stop in Tampa, Florida. Biden, we must remember, had a chance to push through a codification of Roe v. Wade before the 2022 midterms, when his party had majorities in both houses of Congress. I guess it wasn't important enough. At any rate, abortion rights are now a matter of state politics. Is Joe Biden thinking of a run for Governor somewhere?

And then there's this other pitch voiced in Biden's campaign visit: "Biden slams Trump, asks 'Who would lead if US stepped off world stage?'". However, it might seem to observers who have been paying attention or something that the US has already stepped off of the world stage, and that it has done so during Biden's tenure as President.

@The Liberal Moonbat So if Trump wins, what's going to happen to abortion rights that hasn't already happened?

Oh and got this image of Trump in jail and debates happening in visiting room at Rikers Island jail. Our totally corrupt political system might as well offer us some humor.

@MrWebster "Biden is a bottom-five President."

So, let's see, bottom five:

1) James Buchanan
2) George W. Bush
3) Joe Biden
4) Hoover/ Coolidge/ Harding (one of those)
5) Franklin Pierce

I'd love to put Reagan and Trump in there (sigh). So many bad Presidents, so little space.

So what do you think, C99%ers?

Now that the presnit is just a puppet
how can it be rated? For better or worse
it is the power behind the throne to be judged.

@Cassiodorus
Patrick Buchanan was the mighty-eyebrowed, token-(openly)-fringe-Right, "MAGA Before It Was Cool" guy from 2000, who at least had the decency to admit there was no way in hell Holocaust survivors in Florida were voting for HIM when the Bush team was effectively presenting that premise.

Whatever James Buchanan may have done, he did it in the 19th Century when there could be a lot more excuses. I still say Bush was the worst...aside from the "he was NEVER a President" snag.

That's why I say POFT ('President-Or-Facsimile-Thereof') these days; I've lived most of my life under illegitimate White Houses, and ALL of it under an illegitemate regime, AND to the extent any of the POFTs I've lived under were legitimately elected - Bill Clinton (presumably), Obama (at least if you overlook the "PUMA" problem), and Trump (sorta, the Electoral College being what it is) - in every case, their voters were "catfished".

How legitimate can a President really be if you don't get what you voted for? If I buy a box of cereal, take it home, open it, and find mothballs inside, I could sue, couldn't I? Heck, I might even be able to sue if I bought a box of Cap'n Crunch but found Cinnamon-Toast Crunch inside! Or even if I bought Lucky Charms, got Lucky Charms, but they made me sick, like that batch that was poisoning people a few years back...how can the fraudulent/harmful sale of a politician be any different...?
