Jane Sanders: Political Revolution will continue win or lose

Jane revealed some fantastic news for Berners in her recent interview with Racheal Maddow. Jane told Racheal that the 'Political Revolution' will continue win or lose!

I'm with Jane in believing that Bernie can pull this off, but in the event that doesn't happen, it's inspiring to know that Bernie and Jane will continue to fight against the massive political and economic corruption which exists in US today.

Here is entire interview with Jane Sanders. Section on continuing revolution begins at 4:45, but it's a great interview, I encourage you to watch the whole thing.

Note: This is my first essay at Caucus99%, so cross fingers that it looks ok.

The others are spending money coordinating with their campaigns. Hillary is unabashed about coordinating, and Trump is accusing Cruz of coordinating.

No surprise that Bernie's campaign is spending more from that pot of money.

Oh, good - Jane sets Rachel straight.

You brought up V and Vaginas.

Had you watched the clip, you would have found the now quite famous saying of Ms. Sarandon's, "I don't vote with my vagina", which is quite appropriate here.

It's why I, not you, brought Ms. Sarandon into the conversation, to directly answer your question.

I've been hoping that Bernie would accept the responsibility of helping transition the movement on from his campaign to its next phase of growth. I never thought the Democratic party would give him the chance to win its nomination, and indeed the party has done everything possible to prevent it. Bernie probably had the same view when he started, I suspect, and ran to help coalesce the new social democratic movement in our politics. He's already been stunningly successful in achieving that aim with his campaign.

So hearing Jane say this helps me believe this line of thinking is correct, and that she and Bernie already have the next steps mapped out. Transitioning the movement away from a presidential campaign into something stronger and more durable is the most important -- and most dangerous -- step we have to take. Figuring out what our relationship is to the Democratic party is a part of that transition. I trust Bernie to have a good sense of these questions, and to have the willingness to lead the movement forward. He knows it's not ready to have him step back yet, but I suspect helping it graduate from his leadership with strong forward momentum is very high on his priority list.

Thanks for the essay and the interview link, vl! It's wonderful to see you here. You're an incisive thinker and a wonderful writer -- we're lucky to have you.

Two things have been running steady in my mind throughout all of this.

1) Bernie's statement/meme "Don't underestimate me!"

Any time I wonder about which variety of paths forward can we choose? or when I feel overwhelmed and full of doubt (which is about 90% of the time!), I revert to that phrase. He didn't endure {however many years it's been} in 'politics' and in Congress, by sheer luck or plain stupidity. He is a brilliant, shrewd and principled man. A rare and powerful combination of traits. A beacon in the dark!

2) We have to also learn how to not underestimate our selves and our collective power. To me, the ONE most central and essential piece of this whole "political revolution', the prime directive, is: We are not powerless! Together we can achieve great things! But the first step is to accept and embrace that concept. "When we stand together, we will always win." When enough people fully realize that (and it doesn't have to be a "majority") we reach critical mass and then we can flip this thing.

Not only have they done things directly in opposition to Bernie, the Democratic party has arranged things over many years so that any non-establishment candidate is going to face an uphill battle; the "super" delegates were put in place just to keep another McGovern from happening.

Been saying all along that was what this "political revolution" was all about, the democratic party.
The party that will be led by Hillary the Warmonger Clinton when she wins the nomination and possibly the presidency.
No thanks. For those of us done with the democratic party, that's a real dead end to Bernie's revolution.

If Hillary loses, which I believe she will, the party may finally get the hint that they're no longer the party of the people. If we can push the party back to its roots (FDR), perhaps it will again represent us. I'm just a little uncomfortable abandoning a major party, as this country has never dealt well with more than two parties. But, then again, I'm old enough to abandon politics altogether. I'm willing to wait and see what emerges from this revolution before I determine my next step.

Even when Rachel Maddow is pretending to be respectful and sympathetic, she has that irritatingly condescending tone that makes it oh so clear that in her heart of hearts she devoutly wishes Bernie Sanders and all of his supporters would disappear in a puff of smoke, never to trouble or provoke Her Highness Queen Hillary again.

Which is not too surprising, all things considered. According to the website notjustrich.com, Rachel's annual income is a cool 7 million dollars. Which puts her solidly in the top 1/10th of one percent, right along with her idol and BFF Queen Hillary. Literally, Rachel's monthly income is greater than Bernie Sanders entire net worth.

To quote the inimitable Upton Sinclair: "It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it." Pretty sure it's no different for a woman.

I got kind of sick of her when she didn't speak up for Olbermann, whose shoes she is not fit to wipe and who gave her her big chance. But now? Ugh. She is in the tank for Clinton without question. Anderson Cooper is on CNN in that time slot, and since I switched from Maddow, I have come to realize how good he is. He's much more of a journalist than she is, and he isn't nearly as fond of the sound of his own voice. He's also much fairer -- but maybe that's because he's been rich from birth and takes big money for granted. (That was certainly the case with such people as FDR and JFK.)

was that the HRC campaign is not paying for any air time in the upcoming states. Now why would that be? Could she be out of funds? I know it takes a lot to buy super delegates and voter suppression, so she may be running a bit short.

While the super pacs will pick up some of the slack, the states still left to vote hold a boat load of delegates that could change the whole direction of the primary. No advertising budget might indicate that something is up. Other than relying on super pacs to do her dirty work are there shenanigans at work with voting machines or other poll issues that we may need to figure out...soon?

against Trump, beginning the day after the Dem Party Convention.

Because of the official Press Release (from Bernie's campaign), her campaign doesn't see the need to continue spending money on running ads against him--for now, anyway. The official statement [released last Tuesday evening] emphasized his platform, and/or taking his agenda to the convention--not pursuing an electoral path to the nomination.

Her PACs still have money, but from what I've read, her Campaign has been spending at a higher rate than she is taking in contributions (unlike Bernie). So, it's partly being prudent with her funds, since she will need a truckload for the GE (if she wins); and partly, because she/her campaign believes that they have the nomination in the bag. (rightly, or wrongly!)
