Brain Waves Synchronize when People Interact
~

Hey, happy hump day. Have been researching a pet theory as to how people communicate
without the benefit of spoken and written languages. The present state of research is
not anything to get excited about. Seems the majority of the grants are angling toward
law enforcement benefits. It is probably a bit deeper than that, unpublished.

A unifying mechanism governing inter-brain neural relationship during social interactions.

Here, we asked how neural activity differs between brains, and how that difference evolves alongside activity patterns shared between brains.

Researchers are discovering synchrony in humans and other species, and they are mapping its choreography—its rhythm, timing and undulations—to better understand what benefits it may give us.

It is a cold 12F this AM. No frozen pipes nor power outage, so all is well. We're supposed to get above freezing this afternoon...but back into the teens this weekend. However, next week it is back to the 60's.

I hope everyone is weathering the weather so to speak.

As to nonverbal communication...perhaps pheromones play a role?

Strange as it may sound, some scientists suspect that the humble armpit could be sending all kinds of signals from casual flirtation to sounding the alarm. That’s because the body’s secretions, some stinky and others below the threshold your nose can detect, may be rife with chemical messages called pheromones. Yet despite half a century of research into these subtle cues, we have yet to find direct evidence of their existence in humans.

No human pheromone has been identified or isolated, so the jury is still out.

Stay warm and be well!

Pricknik mentioned Michigan has it worse. Minus air temp with minus 20 + wind chill.
Brrr!

After penning this OT, ran across an article (somewhere?) describing predictive AI
using this research "learn" human consciousness. Actions and decisions are monitored
using probes and feedback recordings. Not just for law enforcement anymore.
And DARPA is all over it. Rhymes with mind control.

Today is Judgement Day. A spoof on the god fearing types.
"Now you don't have to die to see how you measure up to your deity's standards.
Just look in the mirror, wait for the answer, and go out and give it another shot."

1524 - Italian explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano's sets sail aboard French ship
La Dauphine to find a passage to China - finds North America instead. Oops

1920 - First day of prohibition of alcohol comes into effect in the US as a result
of the 18th Amendment to the Constitution. Didn't work out so well.

Cheers!

Q, we communicate so badly as it is, maybe if we shut up and started thinking, things might improve?
It was a cold 14 deg. last night and this morning. We ease back into a cold spell above the freeze level as of noon today.
Our single frozen pipe thawed just before dark last evening. Utilities continued to work, no damage done.
My secretary took all precautions, and yet, her pipes all froze. She and her kids used the bathrooms at the office to shower last night.
I just realized I have nothing to take to the office for lunch. Dammit.
I dislike all the local dining choices. They all get their foods off the Sysco truck, just spice and prepare it differently. Guaranteed to give me indigestion for 6 hours.
Pakistan and Iran are in a pissing contest.
sigh...

degrees here, cloudy but rain stopped. Put together a pizza dough sourdough) last night for long rise and "soak", will use for dinner tonight, so easy-peasy dinner duties today.

Thanks for Van the Man, good way to start off the day.

I can't even get all my devices to sync, let alone my brain waves, and the crevasses of my mind? Here be Monsters. There's the zen-existential-solipcist lurking in multiple manifestations and assorted dada wierdos waiting to grab the unwary passerby. I seldom go there, can't imagine anybody else would wish to.

Quiz: What color is an echo?

Well, Let's go see how much of Monday's to-do list I can finally polish off today.

be well and have a good one

in getting all hot, bothered, and involved in local politics.
I have a friend/client who is a peace officer, and this person is running for the precinct constable position. 15 minutes before the kick off meet and greet the candidates rally, he was arrested in a neighboring county for impersonating a peace office in yet another county. His opponent was able to announce to the crowd 15 minutes later that his opponent was in jail, would not be present at the rally. LOL all the way around. It gets better: my friend/client found out that his charge was a misdemeanor of impersonating a security guard. So, his high bond was for a non-existent crime as reflected on the warrant.
Now, the opponent getting the crowd to laugh, was once a county sheriff's deputy. He was fired after he got arrested for night hunting deer, a felony. He killed a prize robot buck and a game warden saw him shoot it. No way I can check public records to see how the perp made that case go away without being made a target. Let someone else do the digging.
So far, there are 3 counties involved in this corruption.
Good times!

@on the cusp

Tried once to get into local politics, came away with a bad taste. The 'good 'ol boy'
network resisted any and all kinds of change (which I was running on).
Established networks are not keen on outside ideas. Would rather not take that road.
Submit or fail was the takeaway. Tried state level also. More of the same, only worse.

It's like the road to nowhere ..

Klaus didn’t look very happy to be called out on his effing plan to rule the world.

Lots and lots of snow here this morning. Stopped for a tad, but has started up again. So many flakes that it’s hard to see the house across the street from me. Might rain later today and then I won’t have to clear the drive. I’ve already fallen on my buttocks once going down it. Blower ended up at the bottom….fun times.
I gave the dawg a bone…she is quite happy.

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

Voting is like driving with a toy steering wheel.

Zionist Thomas Friedman.

the result is exactly what one might expect

Here is an excerpt from Friedman's Wikipedia page.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Friedman

In a column for the New York Press, Alexander Cockburn wrote: "Friedman exhibits on a weekly basis one of the severest cases known to science of Lippmann's condition, named for the legendary journalistic hot-air salesman, Walter Lippmann, and alluding to the inherent tendency of all pundits to swell in self-importance to zeppelin-like dimensions". Cockburn said Friedman's hubris allowed him to pass off another war correspondent's experience in Beirut as his own.[84] In December 2017, Hamid Dabashi wrote about Friedman: "Thomas Friedman is an ignorant fool - and I do not mean that as an insult. I mean it as a clinical diagnosis of an almost-illiterate man who has been cheated out of a proper undergraduate education, sold as a liberal Zionist to the highest bidder, and thus has managed to ramble and blabber his way up as a top-notch New York Times columnist."

@humphrey I would like to have published as many books as he has published. I would also like to have published as many books as Slavoj Zizek has published.

Toward the beginning of this year my publisher's liaison emailed me and said that none of the professors I suggested responded to her emails requesting that they peer-review my book. I sent out emails to the professors again, asking that they review my book so that my publisher could arrive at a decision on the book. Hopefully this decision will be coming soon. But it took so long! I do not want to go through this process again.

Wilkerson's on a roll on this one. He doesn't see any diplomats or leaders in the administration. I liked his riding the tiger analogy or whatever he called it for corrupt politicians captured by the MIC. I had the same thoughts about the so called diplomats when I saw them at Anchorage lecturing the Chinese. The US diplomats were rude and ignorant idiots. I really couldn't imagine what they were thinking. Not sure about all the colonel's comments on the Yemen situation. I thought the Saudis had given up there, and things had settled down somewhat after that until this Gaza slaughter. He's anticipating that some kind of attack on Iran is possible based upon more stupid from the usual suspects.

Thanks for the open thread QMS.
