Pelosi says that pro Palestinian protesters are doing Putin’s bidding

'Dangerous': Pelosi Calls for FBI to Investigate Cease-Fire Supporters

"She is calling for effectively more surveillance and potential criminalization of protestors by suggesting (falsely) that they have foreign links," said one critic.

As The New York Timesreported Sunday that more than 1,000 Black American pastors have joined the widespread call for a cease-fire in Gaza, U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi suggested the demand was "Putin's message" and said the FBI should investigate groups that are speaking out about Biden's pro-Israel policies.

On CNN, the former House speaker, a California Democrat, told Dana Bash that the "call for a cease-fire is [Russian President Vladimir] Putin's message" and said she thinks some of the protests that have erupted across the U.S. since October to demand the U.S. push for an end to Israel's killing of civilians in Gaza "are connected to Russia."

"I think some financing should be investigated and I want to ask the FBI to investigate that," Pelosi said.

A number of progressives pointed out that the demand for a cease-fire is hardly coming from the fringes of American society, but rather from more than two-thirds of Americans in a November poll by Reuters/Ipsos. Three-quarters of Democrats in the survey backed a cease-fire, along with half of Republicans.

"Sadly, Rep. Pelosi's comments echo a time in our nation when opponents of the Vietnam War were accused of being communist sympathizers and subjected to FBI harassment," Awad said. "Hundreds of thousands of Americans, including many young people, progressive activists, and Jewish, Muslim, Palestinian, and Black Americans, have been protesting to call for a cease-fire in Gaza."

"Instead of baselessly smearing those Americans as Russian collaborators, former House Speaker Pelosi and other political leaders should respect the will of the American people by calling for an end to the Netanyahu government's genocidal war on the people of Gaza," he added.

i read that story a little earlier this evening and put it in tomorrow's eb. i guess pelosi is an indicator of how bad things could get before the democrats get finished with their russiagate mission.

Russia plays the long game.
Back in 2009 I was in SF for a Wondercon gathering of fans, particularly those of one of Marvel Comics longest running, most personally satisfying artists from their glory days. An event was scheduled at the Comic art Museum, honoring Gene Colan with a Sparky Award, presented via video message by Stan Lee. As we arrived I realized the building across the street was completely surrounded by protestors. Nancy Pelosi inside at a fundraiser or something like it. Those people were there in numbers and PISSED! I had to keep sneaking out and across the street to soak up the sweet vibe.
Must have cost Russia quite a pretty ruble stalking her thataway.

People who want to make a case for peace should practice citizen promotion. US news items showing evidence of American mental derangement should be forwarded to newspapers around the world. Once the people understand that the US is an object of ridicule — and a hotbed of mental illness — foreign countries will be less anxious to collaborate in US war crimes.

I think that may be what is happening with the Philippines, which has suddenly cooled its active role in starting World War III in Asia. If South Korea develops geopolitical self-awareness in a timely fashion, they will soon follow. These rogue nations in the South China Sea have nothing to gain and everything to lose when they side with the US against Russia and China, nations that have no desire to go to war, unless it is on their own borders.

...Otherwise, MAYBE they'd remember that time the majority of an entire generation wound up pro-"socialism", not because most of them knew anything about socialism on paper or in practice, but simply because they were reliably told that "socialism" just happened to be everything they liked - and then they supported a Presidential candidate who wore that label proudly, thereby finally ending a decades-long taboo against the concept.

How many heroes (and now, simply matter-of-morality stances!) must be branded by the Mighty Wurlitzer as agents of Vladimir Putin before people start thinking 'gee, if a PUPPET'S this good and refreshing, the puppetmaster himself can't be that bad - in fact, he must be even better!'...?
