Congress is the reason why the universities have cracked down so hard

You may have wondered at some point why colleges have decided to spend enormous amounts of money cracking down on peaceful protesters, instead of negotiating. To answer that, all you have to do is look at the one place in our government for which money is no object - Congress.

House Republicans have led the charge in this regard.

House Republicans on Tuesday announced an investigation into the federal funding for universities where students have protested the Israel-Hamas war, broadening a campaign that has placed heavy scrutiny on how presidents at the nation’s most prestigious colleges have dealt with reports of antisemitism on campus.

Several House committees will be tasked with a wide probe that ultimately threatens to withhold federal research grants and other government support to the universities, placing another pressure point on campus administrators who are struggling to manage pro-Palestinian encampments, allegations of discrimination against Jewish students and questions of how they are integrating free speech and campus safety.

AKA, crackdown on free speech on your campuses, or we'll cut off your funding. Still, this almost makes sense compared to other bills.
This Republican Senate bill wants to label all of the protestors as terrorists, no evidence of links to terrorist groups required. Which would naturally lead to them being put on the no-fly list.

A bill introduced in the Senate by two Republicans seeks to place campus protesters on a no-fly list. Across the country, pro-Palestinian students are gathering on campuses and demanding their universities cut ties with the Israeli government over Tel Aviv’s ruthless onslaught in Gaza. Across the political spectrum, US politicians attempt to smear the protesters’ pro-Palestinian viewpoint as antisemitic.

House Republicans took one look at that and said "I can be even more stupid".

Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) introduced a bill in the House on Wednesday designed to send college protesters to Gaza.

According to Fox News, the bill doesn’t specifically mention the protests against Israel’s slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza that have swept college campuses across the country but targets anyone convicted of “unlawful activity.”

The full text of the bill hasn’t been released, but the title says it would “require persons convicted of unlawful activity on the campus of an institution of higher education beginning on and after October 7, 2023, to provide community service in Gaza.”

Ogles said the minimum amount of time the protesters would have to spend in Gaza would be six months. “If you support a terrorist organization, and you participate in unlawful activity on campuses, you should get a taste of your own medicine,” he said.

Boy, he showed them! Those college kids won't want to go to Gaza. Of course that's the whole point of the protests. If he really wanted to prove a point he would make all those politicians in the House go to Gaza.

-- would include the Zionist billionaires who pull the donor strings, the trustees of these universities, the letter agencies (FBI, CIA, NSA), AIPAC, Mossad, and the IDF trainers of America's police forces.

I don't think we can underestimate the extent to which Israel and its Zionist cadres have infiltrated the American political oligarchies. Now, with the protests, we can really see the purpose of Russiagate full and in the flesh: there's a foreign nation that holds America's political class by the balls, and it's not Russia.

but it’s become even more obvious since the college protests started and congress has passed laws against protesting Israel that it’s subservient to Israel’s dictates. I don’t care which side people fall on, siding with Palestinians or Israel, every American should be upset about the hold Israel has over our government. Especially after bitching for 5 years about Russia Russia Russia.

The very hour that suspensions for Harvard students are released, ADL President Jonathan Greenblatt walks out of a meeting in Harvard's Massachusetts Hall, *the location of Interim President Garber’s office.*

@Funkygal

Lindsay says that Israel should nuke Hamas if that’s what it needs to do. He doesn’t explain how to avoid killing the rest of the Palestinians which should be considered genocide. I bet no one will condemn ole Lindsay. Gotta wonder what made people so gd twisted.

@snoopydawg My guess is that he doesn't think a whole lot, because he's so lazy.

I've reposted this a zillion times:

Trump Could Be Our Laziest President Ever, According to Leaked Schedules

All of this scaremongering about how Trump will do this or that begs the question of why Trump would do anything at all that would seriously cut into his leisure time.
